You will find security cards for entry to the main door of the building on the hall table. There is an entryphone system in the flat (control panel in the corridor) with instructions for use on the desk. As well as using it to let people into the building, you can use it to contact the Duty Porter. Please note that you should always double lock the door to the flat when leaving it unattended and leave your keys at the Porters’ Desk as you would in a hotel. Also on the hall table is a landline phone (answerphone light will flash if there is a message) and on the shelf below is the Wireless Router (there is no need to touch this as it will already be set up for you).
The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances including oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer-drier and coffee machine.
There is a landline phone on the desk (two other sets are on the hall table and in the double bedroom), a Smart TV with the full Sky package, and high speed Broadband for access to the Internet. Although there is not currently a printer in the flat, there is one in the Manager’s office (ask Porters for use).
Quick Reference Guides to operate all the flat’s appliances, including internet and Sky passwords, are in a folder on the desk and full instructions are in the manuals in a file in the sideboard drawer.
The dining table is usually set up for 4 people but the table has an extra slot-in leaf (in the hall cupboard) which can extend it to seat 6. There are 6 dining chairs in the flat.
There is a 3-seater sofa and armchair and another soft furnishing seat which converts to a bed (lime green cover comes off and bed pulls down).
The main bedroom has a comfortable UK Queensize double bed, ample wardrobe space for two people with two bedside tables and a dressing table, mirror and two chairs. Hair drier, hangers and an electric fan are in the wardrobes. The bed will be made up with sheets and a duvet but extra linen and pillows and more duvets can be found in the linen cupboard in the corridor.
This is a small single bedroom with a pull-out guest bed underneath. The bedroom has a wardrobe, drawers and bedside table sufficient for one person, but in case of use by two people, extra hanging space and shelves can be found in the corridor cupboard opposite. The bedroom will be made up according to your booking reservation (i.e for one or two people as requested).
There are two separate bathrooms in the flat and in each there is a shower cubicle (no baths). There is an electric shaving point in the mirrored cupboard unit above the wash hand basin. The light for the mirror is operated by a sensor under the right corner of the unit (wave your hand slowly under and to the back of the mirrored unit to turn it on and off). Both bathrooms have extractor fans which come on automatically via the central light switch. Towels are provided and some basic toiletries.
Linen Cupboard
The cupboard nearest the double bedroom is the linen cupboard. Additional linen, extra bedding and towels can be found here. Unless otherwise requested, beds will be made up with duvets.
Storage Cupboards
The two central cupboards are general household storage cupboards. Here you will find the iron and ironing board, clothes drier, and general household cleaning equipment (see useful items list for full contents list).
Bin Cupboard
The bin cupboard is closest to the front door in the corridor. This should be kept locked at all times as it can be accessed from the corridor outside the flat. Rubbish is collected from this cupboard daily so please put your waste here wrapped securely in bin bags. Recycling waste should be separated and put in the special bags provided (paper, bottles, tins and recyclable plastic only can be recycled and disposed of together; all other waste should be bagged separately).
The bin cupboard also contains the fuse board so if there is an electrical fault and the light switches go off, first check the fuses as you would in your own home; if there is no response then call the Porter at the desk to help you.
